What is covered
The PrepFriend websites and app, including their text, practice questions and explanations written by PrepFriend, lessons and videos, reports, graphics, logo and software, are protected by copyright. PrepFriend's practice questions are written by PrepFriend. PrepFriend does not copy questions from the College Board's or ACT's copyrighted tests or from commercial prep books. Where we refer to publicly released official material, it remains the property of its owners and is used under their terms, and we say where it comes from. Material owned by others remains theirs.
What you may do
You may use PrepFriend content for your own study, and parents and teachers may use it with their own children or students. You may link to any public page on www.prepfriend.com and share our YouTube videos using YouTube's share and embed tools.
What you may not do
Without our written permission, do not copy, republish, sell or redistribute questions, explanations, lessons or reports; do not collect content automatically by scraping; and do not use PrepFriend content to build or train another product.
Asking for permission
If you would like to use PrepFriend material in another way, for example in a school handout, send us a message describing what you want to use and how.
Reporting copyright infringement (DMCA)
PrepFriend respects intellectual property rights and responds to notices of alleged infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. This covers PrepFriend's own content and anything users add, such as questions, question sets or assignments written by teachers. Send notices to contact@prepfriend.com (or send us a message). A notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or a person authorized to act for the owner;
- identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- identification of the material on PrepFriend you say is infringing, with enough detail (such as a link) for us to find it;
- your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
When we receive a valid notice we will promptly remove or disable access to the material and tell the person who supplied it.
Counter-notice. If you believe material you supplied was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send us a counter-notice with: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the material and where it appeared before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and telephone number, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which PrepFriend may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice. We may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving a valid counter-notice unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers. We will close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright.
Knowingly making false statements in a notice or counter-notice may make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
